Ringing true from art school to agency, followed by freelance and teaching, one creative nugget of wisdom has always remained top-of-mind. Just two words that would become my design mantra: Be Inspired. 

Perhaps you’re thinking, “But of course, my creative comrade! That’s obvious.”

The essential need of an artist to be inspired has been around since those famous cave paintings many of us studied in Art History 101. The Greeks and Romans had their muses. What’s our elemental source of these magical moments of creative consciousness? Where do we go when stuck, staring at a blank page (or canvas, screen, etc.), pencil or other artistic tool in hand, without a single mark on the page as we arrive at a creative crossroad?

‘X’ marks the spot at the creative crossroads. Through nostalgia, innovation and the exchange of knowledge, ideas and perspectives, we can arrive at the most unexpected yet magical of destinations: inspiration.
